After only getting six hits and four runs on Wednesday v.s. Potomac State, the Lakers exploded for 25 hits and 22 runs and got soild pitching performances from Justin Fluhart and Michael Joyce as they went on the road and swept the Wolfpack of Westmoreland County Community College on Saturday afternoon in Youngwood, PA 9-2 and 13-1. In game one, Fluhart pitched 5 1/3 innings, giving up two unearned runs, two hits, while striking out six Wolfpack batters. Brandon Lucas got going as he had two hits and drove in three runs. Tim Hanible had two hits and drove in a run. Nate Darwin also had two hits and had an RBI.
In game two, Joyce threw five innings, giving up four hits, no earned runs and striking out five. Quintin Smith had three hits and drove in two runs. Eric Peters and Kyle Armistead each had two hits. Tim Hanible and Brennan White drove in two runs and Cody Eyler had two hits while driving in three runs. Sam Beeman also had a two-run double. The Lakers will be back in action on Sunday March 14 as they host Scotland Prep. First pitch is at 12pm.
