The Garrett College Lady Lakers lost to Hagerstown Community College Wednesday night at Carc Arena 56-48. Teira Johnson led the way for the Lady Lakers scoring 14 points and grabbing nine rebounds. Maya Harvey added 11 points, Arionna Liberati chipped in with 10 points and Jada Maxwell scored seven points and pulled down 10 rebounds. Garrett went into halftime only down 20-19 and after the third period down three 38-35. Hagerstown took an eight-point lead late in the fourth but Johnson hit a three-pointer with 20 seconds left to cut the lead to 53-48. After a steal, the Lady Lakers called timeout but the inbounds pass was stolen and Hagerstown hit three free-throws down the stretch to preserve the victory. The Lady Lakers will be back in action on Wednesday, February 26 when they host Potomac State College. Tip-off time is 5 pm.
