What a difference four days make. After recording season shooting lows (11.1% from three and 28.8% from the field) at Howard Community College on Saturday afternoon, the Lakers returned home and found their stroke going 11-18 (61.1%) from three-point range and shooting nearly 57% from the field to cruise past visiting Frederick Community College 100-70 at Carc Arena Thursday night. Freshmen wingman D'Monte Brown led all Lakers with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Sophomore big man Nathan Payet added 14 points and seven rebounds. Oliver Jacquot chipped in with 12 points (3-3 from three-point range) and Kenyon Stone and Strahinja Ivic both had 10 points. The Lakers are now 19-7 overall, 7-4 in MDJUCO and 5-6 in DII Region XX. They will be in action on February 19 (Sophomore Night) as they host the Hawks of Hagerstown Community College. Last year the Lakers erased a ten-point halftime deficit to defeat the Hawks 81-79 in Hagerstown.
